अरण्यकाण्ड 3.23

देवताओं, मनुष्यों, असुरों, नागों और पक्षियों में कहाँ कोई है जो मेरा अनुचर नहीं है?

Among gods, humans, demons, serpents, and birds, where is anyone who is not my follower?

खर और दूषण मेरे समान बलवान थे; भगवान के बिना उन्हें कौन मार सकता है?

Khara and Dushana were as powerful as I am; who but the Lord could kill them?

यदि भगवान ने देवताओं को सुख देने और पृथ्वी का भार मिटाने के लिए अवतार लिया है—

If the Lord has taken an incarnation to delight the gods and remove the earth’s burden—

तो मैं जाकर हठपूर्वक उनसे बैर करूँ; प्रभु के बाण से प्राण त्यागकर संसार-सागर पार करूँ।

Then I shall go and stubbornly make myself his enemy; by giving up my life to the Lord’s arrow, I shall cross beyond worldly existence.

इस तामस शरीर से भजन नहीं हो सकेगा; मन, कर्म और वचन से मेरा यही दृढ़ संकल्प है।

Devotional worship will not be possible with this body dominated by darkness; this is my firm resolve in thought, deed, and speech.

यदि वह केवल मनुष्य रूप में कोई राजपुत्र है, तो युद्ध में दोनों भाइयों को जीतकर उसकी पत्नी का हरण करूँगा।

If he is merely some prince in human form, I shall defeat both brothers in battle and abduct his wife.
